As a member of Youth Leadership Corps I WILL lead by my initiative and by personal example; in youth leadership corps knowledge is as important as in the spirit of my deeds. I WILL participate, with my youth member and leaders, in as many activities as I can, meetings, hikes, Good Turns, special projects--and will carry them out to the best of my ability. I WILL at all times remember that I am a future leader and will carry my self with dignity, respect, and forthrightness in all my dealings, in school, at home and in the community I WILL seek to help others, whether asked to or not, understanding that initiative is doing more than what is expected. I WILL set an example for my members by wearing my YLC Uniform when asked at YLC activities, and I further agree to wear my civilian clothes in a manner that brings credit upon myself, my parents, my school and my community. I WILL remember that the words I speak, carry the hopes and dreams of myself, my family and community and I will choose those words that bring credit upon, myself, family, and my community . I WILL make a special effort to be a friend to each member of my squad or group, and to get to know his/her home, his/her parents, his/her school and work, so that I may truly be able to be a true friend and mentor As a Leader in YLC . I WILL promote the whole-hearted, punctual and well-disciplined participation of my squad or group in all YLC activities. That I attend I WILL promise, If I make a mistake, I will take responsibility for that mistake, and take corrective action to ensure that it does not happen again. I WILL promise to seek advice and guidance in difficult decisions, I further understand that life is all about making decisions, and all decisions have consequences, negative and positive, the chose is up to me. As a member of Youth Leadership Corps, I completely understand that my behavior will be monitored by my superiors and by consultations with my parents, school authorities, leaders in the community, and I further understand that if my conduct does not bring credit upon my parents, YLC, myself, my group, and my community. There is a strong possibility that I may be terminated from YLC, reduced in status or both, with or with out a warning depending on my attitude. |
